SHIMCO AWARDS 2ND SCHOLARSHIP

Awarded annually to a student in the Faculty of Science or Engineering at McMaster University, the Shimco Scholarship recognizes a student in their second year of study or higher demonstrating outstanding academic achievement, and who emulates the core values of Shimco: honesty, integrity, respect and cooperation

Carmen Bracho, a Mechanical Engineering and Management student, was once again the recipient of the Shimco Scholarship, as selected by McMaster University. She recently visited the new Shimco headquarters in Cambridge, Ontario to personally accept the award from Peter Voss, President, CEO and Owner of Shimco and tour the 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

“It was truly an honour to be selected as the recipient of the Shimco Scholarship for a second time,” shared Carmen. “This funding allows me to focus on my studies and my involvement on campus, and it is an honour to be acknowledged by such an industry recognized and continuously growing company. I’m grateful to Mr. Voss and Shimco for their continued investment in my future.”

Founded in 1887, McMaster University is one of only four Canadian universities consistently ranked in the Top 100 in the world. With a total student population of more than 30,000, McMaster welcomes students from 79 countries as well as Canada.

Shimco is a firm believer in giving back to the university community and investing in students who will contribute to our future, such as Carmen. We look forward to supporting the scholarship again in 2017, and wish Carmen all the best in her educational journey.
