Shimco Received Approval for Boeing’s Chemical Conversion Coating

APPROVED BOEING SPECIFICATIONS

I am proud to announce that Shimco received approval for Boeing’s chemical conversion coating specification BAC5719, Type 1, Class A.

Shimco now has the following Boeing special processes:

CONTROLLED PROCESSES

  • Chemical Conversion Coating BAC5719, Type I Class A

NON-CONTROLLED SPECIFICATIONS
Cleaning:

  • BAC 5749 – Alkaline Cleaning
  • BAC 5765 – Cleaning and Deoxidizing Aluminum Alloys Solution
  • BAC 5750—Solvent Cleaning

Primer and Topcoat (BAMS Materials):

  • BAC 5736-BMS10-11 Type I Primer
  • BAC 5736-BMS10-11 Type II Topcoat
  • BAC 5845- BMS10-60 Topcoat

Passivation:

  • BAC 5625 Passivation

LAB APPROVALS:

  • Chemical Testing – Process Solution Control
  • ASTM B117 – Salt Spray Testing

PENDING APPROVALS:

  • Sulfuric Acid Anodizing BAC5022
  • Chromic Acid Anodizing BAC5019

Shimco, as an approved Boeing Tier 1 supplier, now has the approvals to manufacture parts and perform the special process noted above, all at its facility in Cambridge, Ontario. We also expect approvals on both Sulphuric Acid and Chromic Acid anodizing within the next few months.

Shimco continues on its strategic path to be fully vertically integrated for all of its customers, utilizing its state-of-the-art CNC mills and lathes, and its special processes line.
