After a rigorous audit by Airbus Canada, Shimco is approved to perform many A2PS special processes.
CAMBRIDGE, Ontario, January 10, 2023 – Shimco, an award-winning, world-wide leader in the manufacture of precision parts, gap-management solutions and special process has successfully completed the special processes audit by Airbus Canada and has been granted approval to perform many A2PS special processes.

With this approval, we are able to manufacture and chemically surface treat essentially every part we supply to Airbus Canada, and for Airbus Canada’s suppliers. We are now in full control of these parts, reducing costs and lead time, and ensuring the extremely high levels of quality that Shimco is known for.”
Voss continued, “Shimco installed equipment, systems and processes from the very start of construction of the special processes line in 2020 to ensure we would have world-class quality and that we would also be REACH compliant. That compliance now gives us the opportunity to supply our European based customers, where REACH compliance is mandatory. In addition to those customers, we are also working with other significant OEMS for their special process approvals and aim to have those approvals in place in the first half of this year.”
